Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,

Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

Of night and light and the half light,

I would spread the cloths under your feet.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams...

little fairy girl

Here's a little fairy girl I'm working on. She was the freebie kit in Cross Stitch Gold many months back. I thought it would be easy to stitch her over one. And it is, except for it was charted over two. So I really had to fiddle with the backstitching so her face didn't look odd. There isn't much to her, so it shouldn't be long before I finish her. I am stitching her on a 32 count Belfast that is a very pale greenish. I forget the "real" name for it.

She's gorgeous. But I can imagine that the backstitching was a bit fudging. The result however is just perfect
