Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind, and dance upon the mountains like a flame!
~W.B. Yeats

Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams...

A gift for a friend

I almost forgot to show you a Christmas gift I made for a friend of mine. It looks much bigger than it is. I stitched it one over one on 25 ct (I love 25 ct over one!) I think the frame is 4".

Its mounted on one of those painting canvases and placed on a tiny easel. (I stained the wood so it would match the brown on the roof top)

I think I found the design in the Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue. The only change was to outline the banner and bird--they just blended into the blue too much. Plus I didn't stitch my initials in the upper corner, I added another heart.

S'more to show you

This little part of the very big part has a real pearl. There are 4 oysters in this picture. (And I have a headache and just can't seem to make myself chatty)

The center

Here is the center of the surprise Christmas gift that I worked on all year! The whole picture is very large. I think it is 25" square.  I'll share other parts to it soon. There is so much detail that you just won't want to miss out on!!! lol

Another something

You know me...busy working on all kinds of things.
This owl was something I found in my mother's things. And my dad loves owls, (well so do I) so I decided to stitch it onto a tote bag for him because he uses them and I wanted to make it into something useful.

Wait 'til I show you what I've been working on all year! I couldn't share it with you while I was stitching it because it was to be a gift for my daughter. Its what I did with that special fabric that was handpainted, dyed for me. It came out perfect!

In the meantime, here's a happy picture of us at Christmas.
