Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind, and dance upon the mountains like a flame!
~W.B. Yeats

Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams...

Thoughts from me...

I think it would be really wonderful if we could all send SOMETHING we make off to some organization or whatever that can do something with it to benefit others in some way.

There is a shop in a little tiny place in Oregon that collects hats that people knit (they hang them all around the ceiling all year round as they receive them). They send them off to somewhere to people that need them. (I'm not sure where)

One of the girls in my stitchery group, Stitchers by the Bay, suggested we send things to The Attic. http://www.atticneedlework.com/
They collect things throughout the year, take pictures and post them to a big mailing. People can all make bids on them (when they say). The proceeds all go to Breast Cancer Awareness. They raised 20k this past December. I am thinking that would be a nice something to do.

The Pagoda

I'm working on a project that Liz chose for the next EGA meeting. Here's what I have so far (of course I had to be so different and change almost everything about the design to make it "mine") lol

The center piece is just there in the center. Its really going to be stitched together in a neat shape and that will be the "roof." Maybe I will actually finish it and put a picture here for you to see! :)

a little needlebook

Here's a little needlebook I did recently. I have it all pinned and ready to finish up.

My stitched part of Eleanor of Aquitaine

Well, I am rather disappointed and discouraged just now.

I am not at all happy with the sky behind her head.

I see the yellow as too strong. I know it must be yellow so it shows her crown, but it just seems TOO yellow to me.

The prospect of picking out those little tiny stitches that are really X's that I cannot even see without the magnifier... does not make me happy in the least. and THEN trying to figure out what to do in there is perplexing as well. sigh

MAYBE it will look better when I get more stitched. Though I am doubting it. I think it just stands out too much. I dunno....

Eleanor of Aquitaine condensed

I do not intend to stitch the entire chart as they have pictured it. I think there is a lot of background that I am happy to live without.

I will be making it smaller, like this notecard I have.

Here's a photo (a rather washed out one) of the Eleanor from Heaven & Earth Designs.
